We're flying to Bangkok from 5 October

We’re flying to Bangkok daily from 5 October. Please see below for the process guests will need to follow to enter Thailand.

Flying to Bangkok

To find out if guests are eligible to enter Thailand, guests must meet the criteria outlined in the eligibility table below. Guests must check their eligibility to enter Thailand before they book a flight. All non-Thai nationals will need a visa to enter Thailand, including guests travelling from visa-free countries. All guests will be required to quarantine on arrival in to Thailand.

To be ready to fly, guests are required to complete the following steps below. If guests do not follow the outlined steps they will be unable to travel:

Step 1

·         Guests must book Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) at a hotel or serviced accommodation, secure their flight and purchase insurance coverage for COVID-19 with a value up to at least USD 100,000. The insurance policy must have the passenger name and the validity of the insurance must cover the whole duration of the stay in Thailand. Etihad’s global COVID-19 wellness cover is not currently accepted and separate cover will need to be purchased.

·         Insurance is not required for Thai nationals.

·         Thai Nationals who do not have a self-funded ASQ booking will not be eligible for travel and must coordinate with the Thai Embassy for a repatriation flight.

·         Guests can book ASQ directly with the hotels or packages approved by the Ministry of Public Health.

Step 2

·         Once the guest has booked their flight, they must complete the mandatory passenger information form a minimum of seven days before the flight departs.

Step 3

·         Guests must apply for their *Certificate of Entry (COE) in person at their nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate. *Please note that the flight number and departure date on the COE must match their booked flight or the guest will be unable to fly. If a guest’s flight changes for any reason, the guest will need a new COE from the Thai Embassy or Consulate.

·         Guests will need to have printed copies at check-in of their ASQ booking, flight booking and insurance, as well as any other required documents listed in the eligibility criteria below.

·         Please note a COE can take 7-14 days to process. If guests have any issues receiving their COE, guests should contact their local Thai Embassy or Consulate directly.

Step 4

·         Guests need to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before their flight departure time at any government accredited medical facility. Guests also require a separate Fit to Fly medical certificate.

·         A Fit to Fly certificate can be issued by any accredited general practitioner or certified doctor. This certificate must state the passenger name and certify that the passenger is fit and healthy for travel.
